04/29/2015 Berlin Partner for Business and Technology is now going public with its sustainable mobility concept: bicycle leasing for employees, car sharing for business trips and two purely electric company cars.
These are the components that will lead the way for economic development in the capital and encourage Berlin companies to follow suit. The Managing Director of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, Dr. Stefan Franzke, explained: "Berlin is hip, young and dynamic. Using environmentally conscious means of transport is part of what makes Berlin, Berlin. Berlin needs sustainable and intelligent transport concepts precisely because it is a growing city. We would like to exemplify green mobility."
In addition, Berlin Partner has swapped the cars in its fleet for e-cars and created a business car sharing model for its employees along with car sharers in the city. A BMW i3 will be immediately available in Berlin Partner's fleet and another e-car will soon be acquired. The car sharing companies that employees can use include Multicity (all-electric), car2go, DriveNow (partly electric), Citée-Car, Cambio, stadtmobil and Flinkster. In the car, employees can choose between private and business use. Company bicycle leasing has also been introduced whereby Berlin Partner employees can lease company bicycles according to the 1% rule (taxable advantage). This makes even expensive pedelecs affordable. Public transport tickets for business trips have long been part of the repertoire.
Director of the Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO, Gernot Lobenberg, said: "I am delighted that our employees can now experience the full range of sustainable mobility. Electromobility is part of networked urban transportation with a variety of means of transport, including car sharing, pedelecs, public transport, walking and, yes, even e-cars."
