EBikeCommute
Focus areas
The individual, health-promoting, environmentally friendly, and space-saving pedelec is being integrated into intermodal mobility concepts. The project will gain experience in replacing car commutes with the use of pedelecs. The pedelec corridor stretches from metropolitan structures in Berlin to suburban communities in Brandenburg.
The project focuses on the following areas:
- Installation of secure pedelec parking facilities at selected S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations and central points
- Establishment of pedelec-compatible bicycle connections in the southwestern corridor of Berlin (district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf) and in the neighboring municipalities of Teltow, Kleinmachnow, and Stahnsdorf
- Testing of pedelecs for the commutes of employees of companies in the corridor area within the framework of corporate mobility management
- Documentation of use and acceptance within the framework of specific accompanying research
- Knowledge transfer on the overall pedelec system through expert workshops, information events, via the portal of the Senate Department for Urban Development and the Environment, and via the bicycle knowledge portal of the German government's National Cycling Plan 2020 (nrvp.de/pedelec)
